Your trading terminal
Log in, find a market, place a trade and manage it — on Pepperstone or cTrader.
All steps
Your trading terminal sits behind your TradingView account — a full trading platform in its own right. It’s where you look up a market’s leverage and fees, see your full trade history, and manage your trades if TradingView is ever down.
Section A below is the Pepperstone walkthrough. Section B is cTrader — if you opened your account before 29 April 2026, skip straight to it.
On Pepperstone
Webtrader is your Pepperstone trading terminal — a full trading platform, your instrument information, your complete history, and your backup way in. Here’s all of it, in order.
- Log in to your Pepperstone Secure Client Area with your usual Pepperstone details.
- Click Launch Webtrader to open the trading platform in your browser. You’ll see your chart, your account balance, and a panel along the bottom for your trades.
Look up a market’s information
TradingView shows you the lot size, but not the rest. The leverage, spread, swap and commission all live here, and you can pull them up for any market in a few clicks.
- Type the market into the symbol search box at the top of the chart panel. For example, Apple.
- Click the info icon, and the information panel appears, with every number for that market in one place.
Reading Apple (AAPL.US) off the panel:
- Lot size (contract size) = 1 — one lot is one share.
- Leverage = 1:5. The panel shows a margin rate of 20%, not leverage. To convert, divide 100 by the margin rate: 100 ÷ 20 = 5, giving 1:5.
- Commission = 0.03 SGD per share, per side.
- Swap — long: a daily charge of 0.01697%; short: a daily credit of 0.00308% (a negative figure is a charge, a positive one is a credit).
Place a trade
This is the same trade you’d place on the chart, done here on your trading terminal. Take it slowly and start small.
- Click Buy or Sell. The order ticket opens.
- Choose your order type and set your trade size. Pick Market, Limit or Stop, then set how much you want to trade.
- Tick Protection Orders if you want to set a take-profit and stop-loss.
- Place it. Click Send Order, and your open trade appears in the Positions tab at the bottom.
Manage your open trades
- The bottom panel has tabs for Positions (trades open right now), Orders (trades waiting to trigger), and Trade History (everything you’ve closed).
- Right-click any open position to close it, or to modify it and change your take-profit or stop-loss.
Use it on your phone
- You can do all of this from the Pepperstone app too. Download it from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iPhone), sign in with the same details, and the Positions, Orders and History tabs are all there.
On cTrader
cTrader is your trading terminal — a full trading platform, your instrument information, your complete history, and your backup way in. Here’s all of it, in order.
cTrader has its own password, separate from your usual Pepperstone login. You set it once, then log in normally after that.
- Open cTrader. Go to ct.pepperstone.com in your web browser and click Log in at the top right.
- Click Forgot password? (first time only). On the login panel, click the Forgot password? link.
- Reset your password. Key in the email used for your Pepperstone account, tick I’m not a robot, and click Reset password. Check that inbox for the link to set your password.
- After that, log in with your email and new password. Once you’re in, you’ll see your chart and the Trade Watch panel along the bottom for your trades.
Look up a market’s information
cTrader calls it the symbol information, but it’s the same idea as anywhere: one screen with every number for that market.
- Search for the market. Click the symbol name at the top left of the chart, then type the market you want — for example, HK50.
- Open Symbol info. On the right-hand side, scroll down to the Symbol info panel. Every number for that market is listed there.
You’re reading the same set of fields you would on any platform:
- Lot size — what one lot is in this market (HK50 trades in lots of 1.0).
- Commission (per lot) — the fee to trade; an index like HK50 shows 0.00.
- Swap (long) and Swap (short) — cTrader quotes these as a yearly rate, so divide by 365 for the daily figure.
- Long: -5.44% ÷ 365 ≈ -0.0149% a day.
- Short: +0.44% ÷ 365 ≈ +0.0012% a day.
- Min and max trade quantity — the smallest and largest size you can put on.
- Leverage — scroll right to the very bottom of the panel for the Leverage section. HK50 is 1:100.
Place a trade
This is the same trade you’d place on the chart, done here on your trading terminal. Take it slowly and start small.
- Click Buy or Sell. The order ticket opens.
- Choose your order type and set your trade size. Pick Market, Limit, Stop or Stop-limit, then set how much you want to trade.
- Set your protection. Tick Stop loss and Take profit to set where the trade closes. cTrader gives you more than the basics — see its protection methods guide:
- Trailing stop-loss — a stop that follows the price as the trade moves into profit.
- Stop-loss to break-even — moves your stop to your entry price once the trade is ahead, so a winner can’t turn into a loss.
- Multiple take-profits — up to 5 levels, so you can bank profit in stages.
- Place it. Click Place order, and your open trade appears under Positions in the Trade Watch panel.
Manage your open trades
- Everything is in the Trade Watch panel along the bottom. Its tabs are Positions (open now), Orders (waiting to trigger), History (closed trades), Price alerts, and Transactions (money in and out). The bar along the bottom shows your account at a glance: Balance, Equity and Free margin.
- From an open position you can modify it to change your take-profit or stop-loss, reverse it (close it and open the opposite direction in one step), or close it.
Use it on your phone
- You can do all of this from the cTrader app too. Download it from the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iPhone), sign in, and the Trade Watch tabs are all there.
If the screen ever breaks mid-trade, you’re not stuck watching it. Log in here, find the position, and close or adjust it — the same trade, reached a different way, which is the whole point of knowing where it is before you ever need it.
