Step 6 of 7

Place a trade

Place your first trade straight from the chart — order type, size, and protection in one panel.

All steps

Everything is connected. Here’s how to place a trade without leaving the chart.

On your computer

  • Check you’re connected. Your Pepperstone account name and balance show at the bottom of the chart. If not, go back to Step 4.
Your connected Pepperstone account shows in the panel at the bottom of the chart.
  • Under Symbol Search, click the white Pepperstone icon.
In Symbol Search, click the white Pepperstone icon.
  • Now when you search for any instrument, they’ll only show Pepperstone charts — and you can trade on them.
Now every result is a Pepperstone chart you can trade.
  • Click Buy or Sell. The trading panel opens on the right. Choose your order type: Market (buy or sell now), Limit (at your price or better), or Stop (once price passes your level).
The order-type tabs at the top of the trading panel: Market, Limit, or Stop.

Then set the order up in the same panel, top to bottom:

Set your size, then your take-profit and stop-loss, and check the lot size before you place.
  1. 1 Set your size. Clear the size box and key in 0 to see the minimum. Watch some instruments — Gold, for one, trades in lots of 100.
  2. 2 Set your take-profit and stop-loss. In the Exits section, set where the trade closes in profit and where it closes if price turns against you — before you place.
  3. 3 Check your lot size. The Order info line at the bottom confirms the lot size you're about to trade.

On your phone

  • Same flow in the app: open the chart and make sure Pepperstone is connected.

  • Access the trading panel.

    • iPhone: tap the Buy/Sell buttons at the top.
    • Android: tap the two-arrows symbol at the bottom.

The panel opens with the same fields as on computer — set your size, your take-profit and stop-loss, then tap Buy or Sell to place.

  • Monitor your trading positions. Tap the Pepperstone icon at the bottom to open the positions panel — your balance, open trades and history all live here.
